Institutional Research Center
Mission of the Center
To improve the capabilities of institutional management, implement evidence-based institutional management decisions, improve the quality of the school, strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of institutional management and facilitate the sustainable development of the school, Taipei Medical University formally established the Office of Institutional Research under the Secretariat in the 2015 academic year. To integrate the various databases of TMU for flexible use, it was renamed the Institutional Research Center under the Office of Data Science in the 2019 academic year.
Key Responsibilities of the Center
The primary task of the Center is to build an institutional research database, analyze the content of the database to fully grasp the information in the system and effectively link the data for application. Through regular analysis reports, feedback from the institutional research data analysis are provided to construct
administrative and teaching decision-making models that are based on data and commitment to performance responsibility.
Expected goals
It is hoped that by promoting and implementing institutional research, and by collecting institutional research data such as teaching, research, student learning and administrative support coupled with the results of self-assessments, appropriate analysis of factual information can be conducted in a timely manner to provide TMU with references for institutional development decisions and effective evaluation. This would enable TMU to formulate effective institutional improvement and teaching development strategies, thereby enhancing TMU's professional management ability and institutional management ability, and achieve the goal of sustainable development.
